HydroQuest news: 4 hydrokinetic turbines on the Rhône River
Topics : Energy production - Hydropower and Windpower
Release :16/11/2018
HydroQuest – which has developed a technology of hydrokinetic turbines in collaboration with LEGI and G2Elab laboratories – is installing a tidal turbine system on the Rhône river, France.
HydroQuest – an SME created by two graduates from Grenoble INP- Ense3 – has developed in partnership with EDF, Grenoble INP, CNRS, LEGI and G2Elab laboratories (members of Carnot Énergies du futur) an innovative hydro power turbine. A tidal turbine system is currently being installed on the Rhône river and will be operational by the end of the year. It will allow to produce the equal energy consumption of 400 homes.
HydroQuest: an innovator in hydro power turbines
Created in 2010 by Jean-François Simon and Thomas Jacquier (both graduates from Grenoble INP- Ense3), HydroQuest has developed patented hydro power turbines with a vertical axis of rotation and using force of tides, rivers, seas, estuaries and canal to produce energy with a competitive cost.
Developing innovative hydrokinetic solutions for the French market…and beyond!
HydroQuest aims to develop a French sector of tidal turbine system and then to reach the world market. It has already planned to install its technology on various rivers in many countries (Angola, Brazil and Burma) and to develop turbines for tidal currents. HydroQuest aims to market hundreds of hydrokinetic turbines by 2020.
